Students, faculty, and staff gathered at the Broome Library Plaza on Tuesday, May 4^th for the Rally to Defend the CSU Budget to encourage the State Legislature to “Keep the $305M Alive!”  Over 250 petition signatures were obtained and will be sent to local legislators urging them to restore the $305M in funds taken away from the CSU.

Speakers included CSUCI Administrator Renny Christopher, CFA Chapter President John Yudelson, CSUEU Chapter President Joseph Dobzynski, Jr., APC Chapter President Tina Torres, and SETC Chief Steward Michael Middleton.

Sponsored by CFA, CSUEU, APC, SETC, and SUPA, speakers called for an equitable “May Budget Revise” that funds all public services, a showing of solidarity with all CSU campuses in the face of budget cuts and layoffs, and greater voter turnout at the polls for the June primary and November general elections.  A listing of all legislators who represent the CSUCI campus was also made available to rally attendees.
